Ozone Aeration
Keeton Industries pioneered the use of ozone aeration to improve
water quality in eutrophic or enriched water bodies. In fact, we have
many ozone aeration systems installed throughout the U.S. in city lakes,
ponds and golf courses.
Ozone injection via the Keeton Lake Bed Aeration™ System has
been proven to be very effective and efficient through scientific analysis.
Ozone, when applied properly, is:
- Most effective at clearing water.
- Most effective at reducing nutrient loads and biological
oxygen demand.
- Most effective at improving water quality in polluted,
effluent or reuse lakes and ponds.
- 30x more powerful than chlorine.
- Safer, healthier than chlorine.
- Quickly reverted to pure oxygen when exposed to organic
materials.
- A completely natural product and reverts to life-giving
oxygen after doing it's work.

How Ozone Aeration Works
Ozone is produced on-site with an ozone generator system
where dry air or oxygen is passed through a high voltage cell. In
this process the oxygen molecule is "charged" with 10,000
volts of electricity and converted to ozone gas. In our aeration
process ozone gas is blended with the main air stream going to the
lake, where it is released with fine bubble diffusers. Low levels
of ozone will oxidize organic compounds and other contaminants on
contact and help restore natural lake productivity. |
Ozone dissolved in pure water has a half-life of only 30 minutes
before reverting to pure oxygen.
